Willow Bay and Bob Iger, prominent fixtures in Los Angeles’ media and entertainment industry, are reportedly planning to take a controlling stake in the National Women’s Soccer League’s Angel City FC. The club, which has garnered significant attention since its founding due to its notable group of investors, including actresses Natalie Portman and Eva Longoria, is valued at $250 million. This investment would mark another major move into sports for Iger, who served as the CEO of The Walt Disney Co. for 15 years prior to stepping down in 2020. Bay, a dean at the USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism, is married to Iger. Their involvement in Angel City FC signifies a continued interest in supporting community-engagement enterprises and women’s sports.
