The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) recently reported that an Amazon affiliate marketing scheme, promising individuals the ability to earn “passive income”, allegedly led to death threats after a negative online review. The organizers of the scheme, who provided instructional online content about earning money through Amazon affiliate marketing, reportedly threatened an individual after they posted a negative review about the course. According to the FTC, this individual received various forms of intimidation including a threat to their life. This escalates the ongoing concerns about fraudulent activities and aggressive practices connected with online income schemes. However, it is crucial to note that Amazon is not directly involved or implicated in the scheme.
